How are the courses organized?

Individual lessons are adapted to each learner and level. We will use textbooks for A1 and A2, as well as other material that I will provide. I will provide all the material from B1 as it will depend on your goals and learning type.
I will provide all the material for group courses.

A course starts by an informal conversation, then we work on a specific subject for vocabulary and grammar through audio and written documents on a variety of subjects. Conversation takes a bigger part as the level increases, so that you use the structures we study and make them your own. We also work on pronunciation as it helps you making yourself understood but also understand French speakers. Oral French is indeed quite different from written French! In this light, we will also study slang words and phrases that are used by everyone.

At home, you can work on exercises that I will provide and write to help you practise what you learn in a context that is relevant for you. Of course, homework is adapted to the time you can devote to it outside of class.

If you are not sure, you are welcome to book a free 30-minute Zoom call with me so that I can assess your level and discuss the best option for you. This call also allows us to get to know each other and see if we are a good match.

There is a possibility to pay each plan or group course in one, two or three times. I will send you a quote accordingly. Once you have registered, the payment of the full plan / group course is due, even if you stop before.
Not to worry though, in this case you still have one year to use the remaining hours from the beginning of the plan / course. None of my clients have had lost hours yet!

Any time for individual lessons and group classes, except for A1 groups who have to start together at a definite date.

I would like to attend group classes but the schedule doesn’t fit mine.
Feel free to contact me with your request and I might be able to open a new group at more suitable times. You can also find people around you with the same level, in which case it is even easier to open a slot!

There is no refund in such case for group classes, but if it is once or twice every 3-month session, the price is still worth it. I will send you all the documents we have studied, the photos from the board in class and the work to do.

If you think you will be away regularly, individual courses are more appropriate as we can cancel them with enough notice. It is a more flexible option for those of you who travel.

How do I get a DELF or TCF (French language test) for visa renewal purposes or naturalization?

I have spent years preparing people for exams so I can definitely help you! One-to-one courses are ideal to get ready and overcome the stress of these exams. After a mock-exam that we do together, we will see how you fare and what needs to be worked on. I will train you to the different types of exercises required and we will speak about the topics most likely to be addressed in these exams to build up your vocabulary.

You will then need to register into one of the language centers that organize the tests. I can guide you through the process.

For those of you who are looking at naturalization, I can also help you prepare for the interview which deals with the core values of the French Republic and its principles.

I can also refer you to other students who have already gone through the process and succeeded for advice.
